Epstein, her husband and daughter are from Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and will be moving to Monroe during July. Epstein is also a Biblical Storyteller and will be assisting at the church?s vacation bible school during the week of July 15-19.

Epstein studied at Cornell University, Pace University, and Drew University. After a teaching career in New York, she attained her Local Pastor License in 2008, and has been approved by the NY Annual Conference District Committee on Ordained Ministry to go before the NY Annual Conference Board of Ministry for Commissioning. She most recently has served Vail?s Gate UMC and Gardnertown UMC in Newburgh, NY.

In addition to Sunday morning worship, Epstein ministry has included pastoral care, ministering to those in the hospital and nursing homes; missions at both the local and global level; leading bible studies; developing programs for children and youth; and creating small groups within the congregation to encourage and empower laity in ministering to one another. The United Methodist Church of Monroe looks forward to sharing Epstein ministry with the entire Monroe community. Epstein can be contacted through the church office at 203-268-8395.

After serving the church for the past eight years, Gabor is leaving Monroe to begin serving the Hyde Park United Methodist Church in Hyde Park, N.Y. Having been born in Monroe and growing up in the area for most of his life, serving the Monroe community was truly a homecoming for Gabor and his family, the church said.

Upon graduating from Yale Divinity School, Gabor served the United Methodist communities in Pleasant Valley and Plainville, Conn., before returning to Monroe in 2005 to serve as pastor of the United Methodist Church of Monroe.

Gabor, his wife Laura and their daughter Emma will be relocating to Hyde Park, N.Y., during July.
