Fans of "Glee" know Jane Lynch can play tough, mean and nasty -- and lately, she's been able to use those same skills as the vulgar, cruel Miss Hannigan in Broadway's "Annie." No wonder she seems to be having the time of her life.
"It's that energy that courses through your person (when you're on stage)," she said, talking to Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford on TODAY Tuesday. "You're terrified and thrilled at the same time. ... It's the best feeling in the world; I love it."
Still, she admitted, she hasn't been onstage in 20 years. And can she sing? Well, "The jury's still out on that," she admitted. "I'm loud and effective."
Lynch isn't just limited to the stage, either; she'll be showing up on NBC this summer hosting "Hollywood Game Night," featuring celebrities playing pop-culture games, much like regular folks do at home.
"You do have to know Madonna's different hairstyles," she warned -- and then went a few rounds in identify-that-celebrity with Kotb and Gifford.
You have been warned!
Check out "Hollywood Game Night" on NBC starting July 11 at 9 p.m.
Also, give a listen to Lynch's favorite music of the moment. The actress shared a playlist with TODAY.com:
